Willie has been a life long runner and his first experience with yoga was with the after group runs when the runners would use some basic postures to stretch out as they were cooling down. He began his yoga practice when he first met his wife over 20 years ago, increasing his practice when his wife opened her studio in 2006. In 2011 he attended the first teacher training offered at Yoga Etc Studio and received his 200 hour certification. At the time he was still a full time elementary school teacher and did not pursue teaching yoga. When he retired from the school system in 2014, he began teaching yoga. Using the skills he learned during his school teaching years, he is now in his 5th year teaching supported Yin yoga using blocks and bolsters at the studio. Willie enjoys guiding his students with a hands on approach to adjustments and incorporates some tai yoga massage techniques into the classes.
